Cutting-Edge Training

If you’re interested in a career in journalism, there’s no better place to start than BCIT’s Journalism diploma program. From day one, you’ll be working as a journalist, connecting with professionals in the field, and learning hands-on skills to get you a fulfilling career.

Through interactive class lectures and labs, you will gain expertise as a writer, producer, reporter, anchor, video journalist, and more. We train our students to be comfortable with mobile journalism,  filing to three media platforms regularly (TV, radio, and online), and breaking down the walls between traditional newsrooms. This puts the program on the cutting edge of journalism schools across the country, mirroring the quickly evolving world of news and information.

Our labs include working in the field and in our studios for our radio station, our weekly television program and our digital news website.

About the Program
