Today’s edition of For the Record on Evolution 107-9 radio features Electrorecycle. Electrorecycle is BC’s unique initiative to encourage the recycling of small appliances, electronics, and really everything else too!

Before Electrorecycle first started in 2011, 2 million electrical products were dumped in landfills every year. Since then, more than 16,000,000 kg have been diverted from landfills.

I spoke with Stephen Morgan who has worked with the non-profit for a few years now. He said he’s noticed a change of consciousness in BC when it comes to recycling.

“Everyone knows you can recycle bottles, everyone knows you can recycle paper… but it is another step forward to be able to say almost everything in the province can be recycled.” – Stephen Morgan
