IHIT to release new details on murder case

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is holding a press conference on the murder of 33-year-old Kimberly Lynn Hallgarth.

Former BC Lions player Josh Boden is accused of her death and will appear in court to face a second degree murder charge. Hallgarth, who was Boden’s ex-girlfriend, was found dead in her home back in 2009.

Boden was also charged with assaulting Hallgarth in 2008. Boden was a wide receiver for the Lions in the 2006-2007 season before being cut from the team for his domestic abuse charges against Hallgarth.

Man arrested in suspected drug lab explosion

A man has been arrested in connection to a suspected drug lab explosion Sunday. The incident occurred at an apartment building in New Westminster on Carnarvon Street.

Residents in the building were asked to leave as a safety measure but no injuries have been reported. Police are still investigating the scene.

The explosion is said to be a suspected drug lab.

Fight turns deadly in Port Coquitlam

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating after a man died in a fight Sunday. Police were called to a home on Atkins Avenue around 5:30 am in Port Coquitlam after reports of a disturbance.

A man has been arrested in connection to the death. IHIT said that the two parties knew each other and that there is no threat to the public.
